Favorite place/method of farming? - Guild Wars Forums

im starting to get back into guild wars after a four month break, and I was just wondering what everyone's doing now to make some money. whats your favorite? chest runs? fow/uw/luxon/kurzick elite/whatever the elona elite area is? solo farming? farming other areas with a group? just tell what you like best, and why.

Joking aside, loot distribution has taken a hit. Farming solo now yields only 1/8th of the loot. However, things such as golds, rare materials, gold and green weapons will still drop at the same rate. There is also a debate whether this "nerf" has affected loot for parties. Some say it's better, some say it's the same, and others feel loot got nerfed for entire parties. I may be wrong, but the only solo farming I can think of is for ecto and shards (since they're rare materials and unaffected) and the same old party farming areas.

Once upon a time, it was doing simple mino solo runs at Elona Reach. I usually did this when I needed a skill, as selling off all the run of the mill white items, plus whatever gold dropped on the way, would usually amount to a little over 1k. After the loot distibution nerfs, I'm lucky if I get 100g now doing that run. I wouldn't say I was a hardcore farmer, but apparently Anet thought otherwise

Funny enough, I have been solo farming in the,...that place in Elona shall remain nameless for now. Anyway there are a lot of cosair pirates there and lots of bugs and spiders as well. For some reason in hardmode, each run have a very different out come!

1st run nothing at all mostly junk, 2nd run 3 max gold bows lot of white drops and been like that for a while for 3rd - 6th run or so. By the end I spent about an hour and a half and I got 5 gold bows, 1 gold axe with the same mod as totem axe, 15^50 20% enct short sword not max dmg, random gold staff and about 5k worth of stuff for the merchant.

Not to shabby imo, the money and white stuff were not dropping as much that's for sure but the amount of gold weapons drop are a lot higher. But still very random and maybe depend on where you are farming as well.

Everything drops very very little.

Last 2 days (Wednesday and Thursday) I solo'd Chor, Mindclouder and Spiriteater(Factions) easily 80 times each (E/A) and I can safely say there were times that I did it 10 at a time with absolutely no drop of any kind. Money, items, nothing.
(All I wanted were their damn elite tomes ..)

But then when I'm pissed and feel like blowing Sh.....stuff up :P
I grab heroes and henchmen, go out, kill boss and any guards and there'll be 300-500 gold laying on the ground to be distributed to us.

So after a 4-month hiatus, try to sell off any greens you picked up back then and hope for the best.
